OK sports fans, why would Lieberman telegraph in advance his intention to not vote for Cloture
if there is a public option? Don't treasonous snakes usually like to stick in the shiv at the last unpredictable second?

Is he jealous of the attention being paid to Olympia Snowe?

Is he just like a petulant little boy in nursery school saying "Look! I have a boo boo too", when people are fussing over another child?

1. He wants something...
and either Reid of Obama are in a position to give it to him.

I'm betting it's this guy's job.

8. That would make his move even more disgusting
A millionaire playing games in order to get a new job when millions of uninsured people are dying?

12. Oh come on, he just got what he wants
ATTENTION.

and a feeling of self-righteous importance.

both were on the wane lately, but this current happening should be good for about two weeks of that.

15. I say fine, give it to him if we can get rid of the guy. I'm so sick of Lieberman I cannot tell you.
Sending him half way around the world is too close for me. I hope I never see him again in my life.

Lieberman, get out of my face!

2. His stance--if final--would essentially kill the bill so he may want it pulled and changed
Once the bill is on the floor it will be difficult to change, so today is Joementum's point of maximum leverage.

11. He should have been drummed out of the caucus when he campaigned with McCain
I honestly think there is no down side in losing him. He is attempting to grandstand everyone else to do it his way or no way. Plus, his touching concerns for the deficit do not ring true given his hawkish stances on all things war related.

support the man he campaigned against? He's just being consistent.

18. he likes attention
he always has. That's why he has never made the jump to become a Republican. As a Republican, he would fade into obscurity. Being "the Democrat" who bucks his own party gets him a lot of attention and focuses the media on him, which he can't get enough of.

19. It is really very very simple...
Joe is all about Joe. He does'nt give a shit about the
poor or those who can't afford healthcare.

Joe wants to remain US Senator for life. And he is convinced
by showing his "independence" voters in CT will be impressed.

20. The only way he could ever be elected again and it's the longest of long shots
is if he switched parties officially and ran as a Republican. I wish he would. He should certainly be tossed out of the Dem caucus.

21. I don't think Joe Lieberman will switch to GOP
because he will lose his clout as the "independent" senator
sitting on the fence with both parties kissing him.
