5. That's the spirit.
Don't let the kids have any fun because the country is a mess. While were at it let's cancel Christmas too. Hell. Just outlaw fun altogether. :eyes:

9. I don't get the negative reaction either.
I don't remember people being negative about the Easter egg roll. Did I miss something? Kids having fun at the White House is now somehow a bad thing?

on someone's particular issue and especially if he is not doing things exactly the way they feel it should be done it means the world is going to end and right wing memes should follow. He is Hoover, He is LBJ, Clinton, a corporatist, bought by sos and so. The list goes on and it never ends.

25. Fiddling?
2000 trick or treaters in an hour or less is WORK. And, the performers on the grounds gave the kids in line something to look at while waiting. So, no, not 'fiddling' - hell, not even in the same stratosphere as strumming a guitar while New Orleans drowns.

This IS part of his job. He is the US head of state as well as the executive chief. This activity falls under the former heading, not the latter. Really, no different than the Easter Egg hunt.

Personally, I am less than thrilled with his policy stands, but both President and Mrs Obama have been outstanding in their representation of the US - and this is one more instance of their success.

one Halloween Saturday ain't gonna change a thing! Geeze!
I'm surprise you didn't do yourself in while you had the chance,
considering how bad things have been starting in 2001. :eyes:

No candy either. They might enjoy it too much and forget to worry about war, famine, disease, and poverty.

18. Reminds me of the carnivals that came to town when I was a little girl.
They would always have a parade when they came to our small town and almost always had a person in a bubble being rolled down the street. Sometimes they would have someone in a ring with a person rolling them with a big stick like the old children's game. I loved the excitement we had on those days and the anticipation we felt for those (pitiful) little carnivals.
