1. He may be working hard, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be criticized
For one thing I cannot understand is why he appointed so many from Goldman Sacks to solve the financial crisis that they helped create?

In general, Democrats will criticize their own, while republicans won't

At least in recent decades.

9. I do not agree. We lost power because we didn't stand for our principles. The republicans
will be experiencing the same thing in 2010. Yes, I know, the common "wisdom" is that the Democrats will lose in 2010. I don't think so. Independents determine the outcome of elections, and as bad as Democrats are, the republicans are far worse, and instead of moving to the center after the 2008 election, they have moved even further to the right, and that won't cut it with the independents

34. No, we go overboard because when Democrats get solid majorities in both houses of Congress and
the White House, they fill countless administration positions with Goldman Sachs executives, drop everything to rescue banks while ignoring foreclosed homeowners, and hand "healthcare reform" over to lobbyists from Big Pharma and the Healthcare Industrial complex. That's why.

42. Ooooo Goldman Sachs executives... **spooky fingers**
Spare me the boogey man bullshit. Its not a fucking crime to have worked for a bank. I'm getting sick of the prejudice against someone just because they had a fucking job somewhere.

If healthcare reform was handed over to the lobbyists and the insurance industry, then why are so same people so adamantly against the bills that are moving through right now? Fucking tell me. I want a clear god damn answer or an admittance that you are full of shit.

44. Amen. People who work for insurance companies or any large
corporations are apparently the devil, too. Yet if they outsource some jobs, there is screaming, as if the same ones who hated their guts wanted to work for them too. Shouldn't they have been glad these "bloodsuckers" left?

Some people need to hate, they at least aren't right wing nutbags hating on people for their race or religion. But they find a safe haven in hating "insurance companies" or "corporations" as if the people who work for them don't count at all. And not just the guys at the time. If they got the destruction they wanted, millions of small jobs would be snuffed out.

10. Actually, the knuckledraggers did criticize Bush.
They felt he was soft on immigration.

They felt that allowing any fetal stem cell research at all was immoral.

They hated his revamped Medicare.

Any time that Bush showed the slightest deviation from the hard-line neo-con dogma, they howled.

Sound familiar?

16. Democratic senator ‘not sure’ why Treasury Secretary Geithner still has job
http://rawstory.com/2009/11/dem-senator-not-sure-geithner-job/

"A Democratic senator took some harsh swipes at President Obama's Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner as she was being interviewed on a Monday morning news show.

Huffington Post's Rachel Weiner notes, "Appearing on MSNBC's Morning Meeting with Dylan Ratigan, Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) said that Geithner's plans left banks the same loopholes and encouraged the same risks that led to last year's economic meltdown."

"Knowing two massive exemptions in the piece of legislation the Secretary endorsed yesterday on 'Meet the Press' ... why does Tim Geithner still have a job?" Ratigan asked.

Cantwell shot back,

I'm not sure because David Gregory had him almost -- trying to get a straight answer out of him. What the Treasury Secretary basically said was, yes, banks should take more risks and we should continue the loopholes and that is really appalling because, right now, we know that lack of transparency has caused this problem with the U.S. economy and Wall Street is continuing, one year later, continuing the same kind of loopholes. And so if the Treasury Secretary doesn't come down hard against these loopholes and advocate for closing them, then we're going to have a tough time closing them in Congress. So the Treasury Secretary is dodging the issue."

8. That bothers me as well.
And it seems every day there's a new Goldman Sachs connection to a problem. Obama hired an alcoholic to guard the liquor cabinet. Not a good move, IMO.

Now we have banks raising credit card interest rates, not loaning money to people or small business, and closing people's accounts. How does that help the economy recover?

31. The GREAT COMPRIMISER?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/drew-westen/leadership-obama-style_b_342269.html

Genuine leadership means setting the agenda. It means taking tough stands. It means telling people the truth forcefully and evocatively in a way that makes them want to listen and act. It means drawing lines in the sand when you must, and refusing to compromise your values even if you have to compromise on some of the policies born of those values when you have no other choice. It means fighting for what you believe in and taking on powerful vested interests when people's lives and livelihoods are at stake. And it means looking backward at the past so you don't make the same mistakes, looking sideways at alternatives so you know your options, and using that vision to move the nation forward.

Leadership is a quality Barack Obama showed on the campaign trail. It is a quality he has failed to show as president.

38. The OP claims the article claims Obama should save the world quickly and
make all of our dreams come true while he's at it. The article does not make these claims.

This is a good example of a straw man, and straw men are logical fallacies, and logical fallacies are usually contrary to critical thinking.

39. I was looking at the OP title as sarcastic hyperbole not a strawman cause there's no realistic truth
...to a man saving the world quickly etc.

I did read the article again and it does come off a little more fairer than first positioned, it's just the "year" thing is a RW basic talking point.

40. The title of the article claims Obama was elected one year ago,
and the article was written Nov. 2, this means the article is only two days off from the 'elected one year ago' claim. The body of the article claims Obama was elected almost one year ago, which is more accurate.

I believe the article would have been better if the article used the inauguration date, as opposed to the election date, since Obama was not really President until the latter half of January.
