They've all been appointed to the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
President Barack Obama has tapped a roster of Hollywood headliners for the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities, among them actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington and Alfre Woodard and actors Edward Norton and Forest Whitaker.
Also named to the committee were Teresa Heinz, wife of 2004 Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry, Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour and cellist Yo Yo Ma.
The committee works with the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to coordinate the administration's arts initiatives. On Wednesday, first lady Michelle Obama, who is the committee's honorary chair, will host an event at the White House and talk about the importance of arts education and give out awards to successful national and international arts education programs.
