SO....I'm listening to these eerie people talking about today's elections...
as if the entire world depended on what happens in a remarkably few districts.

For one thing, I can't vote in any of the districts, but the way this is being talked about is incredible...it's The Alamo/Pearl Harbor/The Lusitania/The Maine all rolled into one huge heap of...nothing

All of this talk about this being about Obama/Health Care/Tea Baggers/Stalinists, whatever, is pure claptrap. It's a tiny election that will change virtually nothing, except in a few districts/states. I want to see D's win, but this distraction is bug-eyed nuts.

For Pete's sake, there should be a statute somewhere that says people should shut up before the polls close and the votes are tabulated...:eyes:

1. they are manufacturing their own relevance. too much TEEVEE talk
and they are a bunch of idiots looking for a buck. A few appearances shouting your blowhard opinion might get you a book deal or your own tv show or at least a few more clients.

The cable "news" racket is one of the worst things foisted upon the American public in the history of television.

(hmmmm, wondering what they're saying on FAUX...;) )

This talk about IOWA is a :wtf: moment thing if I ever heard of anything more stupid, I'm glad I've forgotten it...:D

2. No elections here in West Palm Beach. Lake Worth is the only
municipality that has an election for mayor. Boring.....

3. The corporatemediawhores will never change
unless they're made to..I appreciate that PO confronted faux on their non "news" outlet.

They were trying to make a referendum on PO in the 20th District(Kristin Gillibrand) of New York until the Dem, Scott Murphy, won.

6. I agree that the media should not be expressing opinions about the election
while the polls are open. To announce that it's all over, whether they really know or not, is just wrong.

There should be a law that while the polls are open, they can discuss general information and the issues only, no "exit polling shows candidate A is leading by 90 percent..."

7. I have decided to not watch cable news the next few days, I put on HGTV instead. It's just not good
for my mood to listen to the cable talkers going on about these elections. Apparently Obama is now very very unpopular across the nation and this will be shown by a district in NY that hasn't elected a Democrat in over a hundred years. But it's really because Obama is just so over with and the Republicans have risen from the ashes as America embraces them fully now.
Barf. I'd rather watch them refinish some kitchen cabinets on HGTV.

9. Great idea
I'm opting for the food network myself. No cable news till next week. They can talk themselves blue in the face, tomorrow morning President Obama will still be in the white house and the Dems will still control both houses of Congress. Wake me up when that is no longer true.

8. You are entirely correct. In another thread, I said,
On a National scale there are not enough elections today to say anything about Obama or 2010. Sorry MSM, but that is the truth.

10. Yes they should shut up until the polls are closed
Let's just say the media are paid, and paid well, to overreact and create drama where there is none.
