The Democrats needs to get their acts together
otherwise 2010 would not be pretty.

Start twisting arms or else it will all go up in smoke.

Tonight is a warning shot to Democrats, the Blue Dogs and
Bi-partisanship is not going to do it....

Just saying.

5. I'm not so sure about that. I am very liberal, but the NJ and VA Repukes won because they
positioned themselves as moderates who seek bipartisanship. Now, both you and I know that they're full of shit, but maybe Americans simply want bipartisanship. It also helped that NJ and VA Dem candidates were very weak, but the two Repuke candidates rejected Sarah Palin and ran as moderates.

6. That would be the wrong
attitude to have, Jon Corzine has been in trouble for the past 18 months and we
kept saying people will come around, see what happened today. We cannot afford to
be COMPLACENT, it will hurt us real bad.

This guy, Christie is not even a seasoned candidate.

We should be very weary, our strategy has got to change like yesterday.

9. I'm not suggesting complacency. I'm suggesting that we find a way to run better,
more progressive candidates. I'm suggesting that we change the political culture. I don't think this country is as conservative as the punditry wants us to believe. But in a state like Virginia where it is virtually surrounded by other BLUE states, there's simply no reason why the Repukes should have won, other than the fact that they ran better candidates who positioned themselves as moderates. We need better candidates. We need to change the political culture as well.

10. Yes I do agree with your premise
there is no way we should have lost Virginia with a better candidate, there needs to be
progressive qualifying questions instead of getting these guys that are associated with
some kind of elderly groups that no one goes to.

I also don't buy that bullshit the media sells about this country being conservative, if
America was a conservative country there would not have been an America, the founding
fathers were progressives and it was because of their thinking that gave birth to
this country, maybe Democrats need to drive this home to the media.

Tim Kaine needs to get more involved too just as Howard Dean, he needs to understand
that Conserva-Dems are not going to cut it.

7. I'm happy Deeds lost. He wasn't a real liberal anyways. I don't really care about Corzine either
I just hope this makes them push to get Health Care done. If they can't, they really have no use to any of us.

11. True
but we need these Gubernatorial because it helps when it comes to general
elections. Do you realize Republicans won the Governor, Lt Governor and District
Attorney in Virginia? These are position of power when it comes to GE and these
guys can be real awkward in preventing Dems from organizing.
