We don't want to spend money on helping people. No way! that costs REAL money while wars only cost monopoly money. Also, health care is a government takeover of our lives, but a government takeover of a foreign country while wasting our lives (or at least those of our soldiers) is NOT a takeover of our lives. So if helping people adds to our deficit, and is a government takeover and is BAD but going to war doesn't add to our deficit, is a totally appropriate use of government and is GOOD, then we need a new branding strategy!
Lets not refer to "financial ruin and preventable deaths" as caused by "lack of insurance", rather lets call it "terrorism" caused by "Al Qaeda". 40 million people in America are vulnerable daily to "terrorist" attacks because they are left unprotected from "Al Qaeda". You get what I'm saying!
Instead of the "public option" which provides "insurance coverage" let's call it the "military" with lots of "weapons" (no "GUNS" is better - people LOVE guns, and no politician can vote against GUNS). We need a strong "military" with lots of "GUNS" to protect the 40 million people from "Al Qaeda" so that they don't fall victim to "Terrorism." Now you've got it. That turns a big government boondoggle into a bill that you had better support or you hate America!
And if that doesn't work, there is plan B.
Plan B:
1. Learn that Israel has universal health care. 2. Copy universal health care plan of Israel and put it into a bill 3. Tar anyone who opposes the bill as anti-Israel and anti-semitic 4. Enjoy universal health care.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
