1. I've been saying it for a long, long time now, but Deeds was an awful candidate. |
|
I know people around here hate him, but we'd have been much better off with McAuliffe.

2. We do have a habit of nominating people who can DO the job a lot better than they can get the job |
|
Deeds was an awful candidate, probably would have made a fine Governor........

4. I don't think it is necessarily the fact that they were of the opposite party. |
|
Who were the candidates in each election?
Was the Democratic candidate better than the Republican in every case?
What were the factors in each election?
What was the economy at the time?
I think Virginia voters have got to be more sophisticated than just voting for the candidate that is from the opposite party of the President.

6. My guess is that Virginia Gov races take place in odd number years, thus no Congressional seats up |
|
for grabs and that might bring out the disaffected in greater numbers just to show their displeasure over the preceding years' Presidential Election.
Anyway, that's my guess.

5. Deeds was going to "opt-out" of the PubOption if he was given a choice, no wonder he lost |
