If Corzine and Deeds had won...
If Corzine and Deeds had won there would be a few people posting that their wins were about local issues and quality of campaigns.

And those posters would be roundly attacked as anti-Obama because obviously the victories were all about Obama's leadership.

There are some posters who reflexively spin things negatively for Obama. There are more posters who reflexively spin things positively for Obama.

Since this is a Democratic site spinning for Obama is viewed more favorably, of course.

But the underlying crime against reason and integrity is the same in both cases.

The clowns in the TV and internet spin-rooms are paid for their efforts. Acting like that for free is roughly as cool as being an unpaid amateur street-walker.

Strive for some sort of objectivity. Recognize that propaganda is, no matter the cause, intrinsically despicable.

1. Objectivity is not rewarded here. Those who win deserve to win because they ran good campaigns.
It's the same 'if you work hard, you will succeed in life' meme we criticize Republicans for believing.

By those standards, GWBush deserved to be president because he ran a good campaign.

Folks here saying Webb ran a great campaign in VA. I adore Webb, but his opponent self-destructed, and being a Marine and former Reagan admin. official created natural crossover attraction. That's why he won. His campaign neither won it nor lost it.

Success in life and politics aren't always merit-based.

2. A voice of reason! MSM and some DU'ers are really overplaying their hands
These governor's races are being way blown out of proportion. All exit polling shows it was about the states, not about Obama. Yet the beat goes on . . .

3. One good thing they did was to shake any complacency we're guilty of.
