Anecdotal evidence from the polls
I know an older lady who's been a poll worker in Mt. Lebanon, PA for decades. Mt. Lebanon is a wealthy, conservative suburb of Pittsburgh. It has one of those desirable school districts everyone wants their kids to be in.

Anyway, this poll worker told me that among voters at her polling place there are usually about two registered Republicans voting for every registered Democrat. But this last Tueday, for the first time in her memory, more registered Democrats turned up to vote. She said that even in last year's presidential election Republicans dominated. This year, Democrats dominate.

Anectodal evidence, to be sure, but heartening.

6. My brother also lives in Mt Lebo
He just said turnout was light.

There are a lot of Rs there. I've also talked to a lot of "self-made" men there who believe they did it all by themselves.

Goes to show - who turns out to vote is everything. Wonder when we'll figure that out...
