A health care card should be outside of employment so that it's available no matter where you work and when you are out of work. This has been one of the failures of our system, even when you get a good health plan on the job. When you change jobs, you lose your benefits and if you get sick and lose your job, then you lose your insurance just when you need it the most. Extending Medicare to all, which is paid through taxes is the best way to go.

Your big problem will be to convince the courts that you should be able to get coverage under Medicare since you pay into it. Run it across your union reps if you have a union.
