Jindal Presidential Material? Says who? He is Awful!
I was watching MSNBC and saw a horrible-looking Bobby Jindal giving a speech declaring a State of Emergency in Louisiana regarding Tropical Storm Ida and he does not look impressive. He is tongue-tied, he looks sweaty and greasy, not a good picture on television. He was even upstaged by the sign language guy. If Bobby Jindal is the best that the GOP has to offer, they are indeed in the political wilderness for at least a generation!

3. Yes, but Bush gave an image of being one of the guys, someone who you may like
to hang out with...but Jindal looks like a total weirdo, someone who the common man would not be able to identify eith...

5. He had a terrible response to Obama's State of the Union speech too
At least I think it was the response to the SOTU speech. America had just voted for a change in government to leaders who would act on behalf of our citizens, and Jindal's response was to face the tidal wave and claim that more laisse faire government was the answer. He cited Katrina as an example of why we need less government. Maybe one day he'll get his cue cards assembled in the proper order and give a speech that sounds coherent, but until then he'll continue to be good for laugh after laugh after laugh.

23. The weird thing was that McCain was obviously just doing his Andy Rooney
impression. It's like he thought nobody would notice he was copying the way Andy Rooney speaks. That "gosh darnit, I'm just sayin' it the way it is, real folksy like" trademarked Andy Rooney inflection that any idiot can copy.

6. Well now ---
should we worry about the next presidential election. Just think, Palin, Huckabee, Romney, Newt the toot, PHEWlenty, and now Jindal...what a group. Oh I forgot the new governor of Virginia McDonnell. He is being touted by CNN as outstanding already. Of course they have an article about all the wonderful stuff he is going to do for Virginia.

10. It doesn't really matter if he is or isn't
If he has any aspirations for the presidency, neither 2012 or 2016 will be a good year for him. The republican party is saying, "Screw it!" and letting its racism fly at full mast for everyone to see because there's a non-white in the Oval Office. There's no way the upper operatives in the GOP or the NASCAR bubbas are going to try to get the presidency to pass from one non-white to another non-white even if the latter one is in their party. His best bet is to try and get on as the veep candidate, and the GOP's racism will be too hot in 2012 for him to do even that.

13. Indians are Caucasians. Scientifically speaking, Jindal is 100% "white" despite his skin tone.
I agree with the gist of what you're saying, though I think he'll go for it in 2016.

16. Your argument won't fly with the GOP
I think he'll go the veep route first. Now whether he'll go the veep route after running into the glass racism ceiling in the GOP primaries, dropping out, and then being selected by the eventual GOP nominee, or he'll go straight for being selected by the GOP nominee, that remains to be seen.

I think he'll definitely run in 2016 if he ever gets funding and if his TV speechifying improves greatly.
He'll definitely be on everyone's VP list to cynically work the minority vote but it'll go over like a lead
balloon like the RNC's Michael Steele brain fart.

20. Jindal advocated working with Obama on HCR rather than blindly opposing him.
To the Freeper types, he's a RINO.

If Bush was, then bar is set low. And the qualifications for being president aren't very high.

21. *Chuckle*
Well, Neither one of his parents were US citizens at the time he was born, and he has Indian Overseas Citizen status from birth. So you would think the birthers wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.

I'm betting they ignore that if he got the GOP nomination.
