My friend, a working middle class woman who has just come through breast cancer, can probably afford an abortion without insurance coverage but she absolutely would not be able to afford further cancer treatment if she got dropped by her current insurer.
My daughter-in-law who is dealing with MS, could probably afford an abortion but, if anyone read Will Pitt's post about this, could never afford the hige costs of MS treatments without insurance.
So, we are faced with awful choices and so is the President and so is the Congress. I am thinking that we will have to take the good with the bad for the time being and keep working on the bad.
I don't know, it's awful, ugly, not what we hoped for and a world of hard work going forward. But it is a beginning.
