In posting that everyone saying Stupak is innocuous is lying I went too far.

It is a very complex issue... too complex to broad-brush like that.

I question the sincerity of some, but many more have doubtless been taking a stand based on plain-reading, which is deceptive in this case. The amendment was written with the intention that it appear to be uncontroversial.

(A poison-pill is seldom labeled "poison pill")

In any event, since President Obama has offered his view on the matter I hope it will lead to more commonality of view-point.

Most of us want a bill. Most of us take choice very seriously. And most of us believe what we say when we say it.

My sincere apologies to the broad-brushed innocent

:hi:

1. Forgiven
It was not obvious at first that Stupak went so far beyond Hyde and not everyone is a slave to the 24/7 news cycle. Many who voted for Stupak probably did so thinking it was just a clarification of Hyde in this bill.

2. I'll give this a rec just for integrity...
'cause you just showed me some. I wasn't one that you're apologizing to, but it takes a big person to do this sort of thing, and it should be encouraged.

4. Yeah, but it takes a bigger person to not do it in the first place!
Poor impulse control.

Old conflicts bleed over into new issues.

I woke up in a state James Carville once called "pig-biting mad."

5. But it takes an even bigger person
to vindictively harp on the point. ;)

We're all 99% in agreement here. I don't want to fight with my DU brothers and sisters any more.

Apology accepted and I'll also apologize to you for being so brash in response to some of your OP's.

7. Cool. I wish this could extend to the Kucinich rants of late, on both sides.
Jeebus.

Your reply should be an OP.
