. . .these great speeches are racking up, but listening to him right now is sending chills up my spine.

He is saying the right things, he is making the right points, he is doing what needs to be done.

I am so proud.

19. I'm in the tank. I think he's doing
the best ANYONE could have done under the circumstances. It's the toughest presidency on decades and with every passing day, i'm more and more resent those in the Left who won't give him a break on ANYTHING, not one damn thing.

15. I hope you show more animosity toward the ineffective congress than you do for the president
You must if you truly understand how a democracy works and weren't actually hoping that Obama would be a dictator.

He is a good man who is trying to do a good job for this country.

27. I like Obama. I knocked on hundreds of doors to get him elected. I co-set up
a phone bank and we were doing hundreds of phone calls a night with 25 volunteers we organized before the first paid staffers arrived in our area. They sure appreciated my work, effort, and dedication more than you do. :)

When Obama does things I like and think are good, I praise him. When he does things I don't like, I criticize him. I'm an American. If you want mushy-love all-the-time you are in the wrong country and the wrong party.

26. That reminds me of a response to the "just words" criticism of the President.
It was actually Tweety who said it - paraphrasing - just words? Words are extremely important and powerful. Words are what get men (and women) to charge into battle knowing they may well die from it. Don't dismiss the power of words. Words are power.

(gotta love that first reply, "huh? who's Barack Obama?")

and the reply by Doomsayer, "man, what a guy. Perhaps he'll be our first black VP, or... dare I wish it? President. Obama is the man, a strong, enticing, progressive image for Illinois. I've never been prouder of my homestate than I am now."

And (from Obama's '04 US Democratic Primary win speech) "now first of all I am man, but damn if this was not "a moment" nothing is. At one point Obama was thanking his wife and said I don't know why you put up with this. Normally the wife would sit back and take the applause and that is it, but Michelle Obama waited for the applause to stop and screamed. . ."because I love you!" The crowd went nuts!"

43. You're IMO, clearly in the tank.
I've seen little to no leadership on President Obama's part so far. I used to get angry at the right wingers for saying that "he only makes speeches and doesn't take hard stands." I hate myself for it, but for that ONE FACT (but entirely different perspectives) I agree with them.

Obama is NOT leading on any issue: Not on WALL STREET; Not on Wars in Iraq nor Afghanistan and certainly Not on Health Care legislation.

He wants to be liked and "get along" ... well, one term is all he'll score.
