but until the unemployment numbers turn around, this trend will continue. And let's face it, the power is in the hands of the businesspeople who are the ones who will do the hiring. They will try to do all they can to use existing personnel resources, and with a lot of people working part-time (like me) they will have a lot of slack to take up.

Add to the fact that existing full-time workers wouldn't mind making some overtime money, and you have a recipe for keeping the unemployment figures up so that the corporations can get the Rethugs back in power.

The possible solution to this is jobs tax credits. They worked during the early 1980's, and got people back on payrolls instead of in cheese lines.

Jobs is definitely the bigger issue.. and that always lags.. but if the Rethugs were in the white house right now, unemployment would be at 15%+, however Exec pay would be double what it currently is.

from the GOP. However, those new independents didn't jump the fence they just jumped off the sinking ship. They haven't let go of the basic beliefs they had a year or three ago ans will continue to side with the Confederates.
