3. I wasn't there live,

but I did catch the last half of the speech. I was working and forgot to turn the TV on. (Duh!)

But it was very good, and the troops all seemed ecstatic to see him. He got lots of applause and everyone was crowding around him afterwards. He was in no hurry to rush out, spent a lot of time talking to different people. He gave specific shout-outs to the various units, knew where they had all been, and mentioned a few of our recent casualties, including the first Alaska Native Marine, to die in either Iraq or Afghanistan (just a couple of weeks ago), Gregory Fleury. http://www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=11431135 I believe he said he had met individually with Corporal Fleury's family before the speech.

Anyway, it seems he was very well received. We hope we can get him back here for a more open visit at some point in the future. This one was closed to the public.

4. All I know is that I saw Obama in New Jersey on a Sunday

interviewed for a dream job Tuesday afternoon, voted Tuesday night, and got the job on Thursday!
