IMO, Democrats will vote in record numbers against Bush

I know alot of you Clark supporters don't like to hear this. It's true amongst progressives and other independants, we will vote for Dean. Dean fires people up, the way no one in the Democratic party has in a very long time. I voted for Clinton, but honestly he didn't do much for me. In 2000 Bradley was my favorite...and yes, Nader received my final answer.
In a perfect world, Dennis would be the President...but I've matured a bit, and Dr. Dean has made me proud to be a progressive democrat once again.
Honestly, I don't think Clark would receive my vote in the General...I'd look towards the green party once again. Clark is Republican...full stop. Maybe his war views are more Libertarian, and his economics a bit more progressive...but bottom line, he fits in well with his former compatriots on the right.

With a strong showing in Senate races we could actually see Bush an co. where they belong, before the dock at the Hague

I really wonder if the voter turnout this year is going to be at the level it was in 2000 or more. Antipathy and cynicism are vicious cycles, and lord knows Bush has sowed a great deal of both since his selection.

I can't see Bush winning any of the Northeastern states, including New Hampshire or Pennsylvania, and I see him going down in the West and North (except maybe Minnesota) as well.

by my calculations, if the Dems hold onto most of the Gore 2000 states (the key ones being MI, WI, IL, PA), which looks likely, and take New Hampshire and Nevada, which also look likely, all they need is one of Arizona, West Virginia, Florida, Colorado, Missouri, Ohio, Louisiana, or Arkansas, to take back the Presidency.

10. I Don't Think The Republicans Can Win

I mean that assertively. I do not think that the Republicans stand a chance to tell you the truth.

Here are my reasons. First I agree that the Democrats will be out in full force for the next election, and so will the Republicans. What everyone seems to forget is that the Republicans were out in full force in the LAST election and the best they could come up with is a tie if you accept its legitimacy at all. If the Democrats had turned out in 200 in the percentages I expect we will have next November Bush would not have been able to take the election. So that's one thing, there are more of us than there are of them, don't forget it, and get out the vote.

Then there is this. I do not know of a single Democrat who voted for Gore who would vote for Bush next time around. Not a single one.

Virtually every person I know who tells me they voted green last time around has told me that in light of Bush's term so far they will actively vote against him in favor of whoever the Democrat turns out to be. These people know what their vote meant last time and they are not going to let that happen again.

Finally, I have met a few, not a lot, but a few, Republicans who feel they have been betrayed by Bush and will not vote for him again. In truth I think these are about the only folks out there that are really available as undecideds that might go for a 3rd party candidate or not vote at all. So they don't help but they are not a threat.

Put those three things together and we win by a landslide. Stick in the October suprise and maybe we just squeek by. One way or another we win.
