I know that he has not won the nomination. If he does who would you like to see as his running mate?
My choice is Dean/Harkin or Dean/CMB though that might be too gutsy for a year when we must get rid of bush.

MONTPELIER – As Gov. Howard B. Dean was mulling his second appointment to the Vermont Supreme Court earlier this month, he made little effort to mask his distaste for some of the court’s recent decisions.

“I’m looking to steer the court back towards consideration of the rights of the victims”, Dean said three weeks ago in a radio interview with Bob Kinzel of the Vermont News Service. “I’m looking to make it easier to convict guilty people and not have as many technicalities interfere with justice, and I’ll appoint someone to fit that bill”.

Asked if that reflected a “get-tough-on-crime” approach, Dean responded: “I’m looking for someone who is for justice. My beef about the judicial system is that it does not emphasize truth and justice over lawyering. It emphasizes legal technicalities and rights of the defendants and all that.”

Such comments may play well with the general public, but they have sent a chill through the collective spine of lawyers – particularly defense lawyers – around the state.

Throughout his six-year tenure, Dean’s public chiding of the judiciary has led many lawyers to question the doctor-governor’s grasp of constitutional law. In their eyes, Dean views the protections contained in the Bill of Rights as mere “technicalities”.

15. Regardless of who gets the nomination

I think any of the candidates would be ideal for vp and various other influential cabinet positions. My choice would be
Dean - president
Clark - vp, Sec of State, or Sec of Defense
Kucinch - sec of interior/ag/epa etal
Gephardt - sec of state
kerry - sec of defense or ?
Edwards - VP or ?
Not sure where lieberman or Braun would fit but sharpton would be great as secretary of humor.

but though hes a good guy on the environment, I would offer a job to RFK Jr for the interior. DK cant be AG unfortuenly, you have to be a lawyer, and DK isnt one. However I think Edwards would be a phenominal choice for the job. As for VPs for Dean, I dont have a clue.

I would like to see Dean run with a strong credible woman as VP, but I'm not sure of the best option there.

a nice promotion, no? I know that I warmed up to the gentleman
during the early debates in which he participated, and would
support without reservation a Dean/Graham ticket.

(I actually like several folks in the poll and some who aren't

I think the Southern guy-as-VP is stupid. When will we figure out that we're not gonna win the South, and that's OK?

The GOP has a lockdown on all of the Southern states except Louisiana and Florida, and *maybe* Arkansas. They are effectively the party of the South at this point, and that's not going to change in this election. This is what all my friends down South are telling me, and I haven't heard anything to convince me otherwise. Bush is polling incredibly there, and I haven't seen any head-to-heads that are even close.

On the other hand, we have a real chance at winning the midwest and southwest. But if we go at it with the conventional DLC Southern strategy, we're gonna get killed. We have to try to appeal to suburban moms and Latino voters, who are gonna decide this election.
