What are they bringing to the party? What do they hope to accomplish? What is their overall vision for America?
Avoiding mindless slogans, the shorter the better. If you can't keep it short, you can't keep it clear. If you can't keep it clear, then how clear is that candidate's mission?
Vanity note: I'm undecided & have it narrowed down to three candidates. The one thing those three have in common is that I have a clear understanding of their overall vision.
Clark is dangling off the edge of my short list because I've been having trouble pinning down his "mission". Maybe some Clark supporters can put it into words I can connect with.
Here's mine:
Kucinich is the easiest: He has a clear and unwavering committment to doing what's right. Integrity, consistency, and leading by example best describe his vision for a leader of the nation - and our nation's role as leader of the world.
Dean: Is about empowerment & community - restoring Democracy to how we all envision it should be, and making its reality a possibility by rolling up our sleeves and taking on the power structure that has abandoned us.
Kerry: The incorruptable Washington Insider, fighting for reform from within the inner circles. He can give America confidence in our leadership again. Think Bobby Kennedy.
This is just how I see it. How do you see it? What central message(s) have connected with you?
