1. Cautiously optimistic
with thumb on the mute button, because the sound of Chimpy's voice makes my flesh crawl.

3. Closed Captioning is good when they have it, but it's even more garbled
than the * is when it comes over live. *lol*

2. It's the post-debate spin I'm concerned about...
The U.S. media have this terrible compulsion to spin things to fit an agenda. This agenda is obviously biased toward VillageIdiot.

Again, the substance of the debate will be obscured by VillageIdiot's perceived "Folksiness" (whatever that means and whatever that does to one's ability to be a good POTUS)...

5. Don't care about the debates...
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 12:57 PM by getoffmytrain
I'll be the contrarian and say that I think virtually every single soul REALLY knows who they are going to vote for... Further, someone that isn't informed enough to know who they are going to vote for at this point, isn't going to watch the debates anyway. No doubt, however, they should be entertaining.

6. "No doubt, however, they should be entertaining."
That reminds me of a Kevin Bacon line in his opening arguments in "A Few Good Men". :)

9. *lol* You want to play an even shorter version of that game
try Dean Stockwell instead of Kevin. You can frequently get to him in less than 4 degrees.

8. I worry that Bush is being taken light.
Bush knows his command of the English language is not the best. He makes up for this by staying on message and not deviating no matter what.

I worry about Kerry's penchant for nuance, for leaving himself some wiggle room for later. Any nuance will be pointed to by both Bush and the media as flip-flopping. Face it folks, the flip flopper tag has stuck in the minds of a lot of voters and being nuanced during the debates will be a very, very bad thing.
