Great article on Wes Clark.
Clark boomlet ignores issues, ideology.

Please, don't talk to me about the issues.

Oh, not you. And maybe not you, either. But you - that's right, you: the average Democratic voter who, having barely or never heard of Wesley Clark, has decided he's your man.

And you the Democratic activist who's been denouncing President Bush as a war monger for "fighting a war of choice" that was "not in the national interest" and was without U.N. approval but who has no problem flocking to a general in charge of the consummate war of choice, which lacked U.N. backing and could never, ever, be seen as an effort to deal with an "imminent" threat - or any other kind of threat.

Or don't you remember Kosovo? That's the place where American troops are still holed up, four years later, risking their lives for the betterment of another people. If you think that's good - like I do - you might want to explain why it's not good for us to be in Iraq for even one year.

And you the loyal party man. Why are you flocking to Wesley Clark's banner? Why are you so quick to forgive a candidate who "probably" voted for Nixon, Reagan and Bush and who just this week exclaimed that he'd be a Republican if only Karl Rove had returned his phone calls?

Oh, and what about you liberal pundits? You know who you are. The ones who fawned over Bill Clinton and Al Gore because they'd supposedly mastered the details of governing. Why is Wesley Clark suddenly your guy, too? Why is it now so forgivable that Wesley Clark needs to "study the issues" before giving detailed answers. I thought the reason then-Governor George Bush wasn't qualified to be president was that the Oval Office is "no place for on-the-job training."

And, by the way, why are the folks who said this election should be about the economy and domestic issues suddenly so hot for a guy whose resume includes almost no experience in this regard? Sure, General Clark can brag about running a military base, which had schools and a hospital. But his constituents and employees could be thrown in the stockade if they didn't follow his orders.

Jonah gets it right with this one. Great site for thought provoking commentary on all of the leading Democratic candidates...looks like it's a popular news and commentary site for some DU'ers. Even the Freepers like it, I bet.

16. No
Because sometimes people need to see their own tactics used against them before they appreciate the harm they cause.

3. Great article? I think not.
Fair and balanced article? Nope.

And I wouldn't expect a fair or a balanced article coming from the likes of Jonah Goldberg. He may be worse than Lucianne. However, this disgusting piece notwithstanding, townhall.com is a pretty decent site.

4. Great Article?
Its the stale ravings of a lunatic. Jonah and his kind can only take home a paycheck by hating other human beings. Constituents didn't get thrown in the stockade because they were inspired by the General's leadership. Kosovo', don't have to worry about body bags and news blackouts in Dover for Kosovo. Yes, Clark studies the issues, bush is told what to do by his handlers, just like an elephant at the circus. Yeah, great article.

10. You might do better
If you cut and paste some of the standard complaints made by Dean supporters, who feel they are insultingly portrayed as blind sheep and cult followers by some detractors, and then use it as the screen saver on your personal computer, you might be remiinded in time just how effective it is as an organizing tool to directly insult the intelligence of the followers of another candidate. Just some free advice.

13. When Did Goldberg Move Out of His Mom's (Lucianne) Basement?
Edited on Sat Dec-20-03 10:13 AM by Torgo4
Check out Al Franken's book for a listings of Goldberg's trouble with facts.

Anyway:
Approximately 6,300 U.S. troops are currently in country (Kosovo).
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/joint_guardian.htm

That is only 1/3 of a Division. Ask Bernie how many have been sniped or blown up by insurgents? Correct answer: Zero

Clark has addressed this so many times he's blue in the face. He and NATO, with Cohen kicking and screaming went to war incrementally, step at a time. Until finally, it was necessary to stop butchery of unarmed civilians.
I know Bernie and his fellow "What? No oil? F--- 'Em!" Conservative Republicans only want to fight (uh...OTHERS to fight), when there's big bucks involved for Halliburton, but it's good to see that Clark and others had a conscience and stopped the killing when he did!
And I got to tell him so in person! At a small fundraiser last month I got about 10-15 min one on one. I finished off our conversation (about military & vet's stuff) by telling him:
"So what if you got the hook 3 months early? You saved lotsa lives in Kosovo with ZERO combat casualties...That number of body bags again...ZERO!
Saint Michael loves you and so do we!!!"
Inside phrase--St. Michale is Patron saint of Paratroopers who's medal Clark wore in Vietnam-- See page 74 of "Waging Modern War!"
