Every time Bush steps on his tongue, has a poor showing or generally making an ass of himself, Cheney rushes in with some stupid comment to shift the attention away from Bush and his screw-ups.

Remember "OB/GYN love their women," Cheney countered with "Vote for Kerry and we will be attacked again."

That is just one example, sure other people can come up with others but just watch the VP work. When the media is spending too much time highlighting BoyGeorge's incompetencies Cheney rushes in to give cover from the fire. He's this administration's decoy.
