4. I kinda felt that way too. |

"The enemy" is such an open-ended phrase I don't even want to think about all the groups that Bush's more bigoted supporters consider to be "the enemy".

7. somebody had a line about George Pataki... |
|
After the fall of the Saddam statue, there was some discussion about what should happen next to the statue itself. So a comedy writer responded to a quote from Pataki...
New York governor George Pataki suggested that the statue be melted down and used in the construction of the World Trade Center memorial. Pataki claimed it would be a symbolic gesture to show the world that America is a country that simply cannot tell Arabs apart.

When we listen closely to Bush, there are many alarming "hints" that he depersonalizes all human beings he considers to be his "enemy." The fact that he constantly refers to Kerry as "my opponent" combines the depersonalization with a possessive: "my." George owns his non-human enemy. He has the right to make life and death decisions. Only he knows.
Your description of "a pathetic piece of crap" is accurate. But a very dangerous piece of crap, he.

Your point about Bush dehumanizing people is a very good one, I hadn't noticed that specifically before. :hi:
