Dear Editor:

This morning, I heard a few pundits on TV and read a few in print who insist that Bush won the debate simply because he didn't lose the debate, or because he didn't fall completely on his face or "vomit on stage," as one CNN talking head put it.

Sounds like Bush is the victim of the "soft bigotry of low expectations."

Sorry, but I require more in my Commander-in-Chief than simply the ability to stand upright on a stage for ninety minutes, keep his dinner where it belongs, look for all the world like a petulant child, and "debate" by doing nothing more than simply repeating the same thing over and over again.

I want a President who has a clear command of the facts and can persuasively explain why he feels the way he does. And that's just for starters. Watching Thursday night's debate made it pretty clear who that man was: John Kerry.

I just sent this to the Dallas Morning News, the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, the Houston Chronicle (I live in TX), the New York Times, the LA Times, and Hardball.

We've got to keep up the letters and feedback for at least another 24 hours, maybe longer. Keep up the pressure, don't let them fall back into their right wing pimpin' ways!!!!
