Lame Duck President can do a lot of harm in two months
Is there a chance from Nov. 3rd until Jan. 20th that a couple of Supreme Court justices could decide to retire and there will be an end run by the right to hustle through some confirmations? Especially if there is a coming shift in the House or Senate after the first of the year. Know it would be tough but would they try?

3. The Supreme Court is our most vulnerable point of entry for
the neocons to do lasting harm. Senators and Representatives come and go - the Supremes get a gig for life with no repercussions.

2. No chance.
The Dems would bottle it up tight in the Senate. Besides, after he loses Bush will hit the bottle too hard to be able to write his name.

4. the main damage will come from...
The main damage Bush will do is to pardon everybody in his administration for crimes they may have committed - effectively derailing any investigation into the Plame affair or other scandals.

9. Dems in the senate
would filibuster such an appointment. It takes 60 votes for cloture and the Republicans don't have that many votes.
