Let's say a little prayer.
Yes, we're all happy today. But let's all say a little prayer right now. And show others we have, to encourage them.

You don't have be religious. I'm not religious at all!

Just talk right now to whoever you ask for those very special things.

Ask that this has not been only a temporary wish granted. But rather, that the last thirty days will continue to show this shift away from George Bush. That the American people will come to realize and truly decide that John F. Kerry is the man we MUST HAVE to save this country. And that this election is not stolen from us a second time.

Just take a few seconds. All I ask is that you say the prayer. To yourself or post it here. Or just click "DONE" when you have.

I feel it is time to ask that higher power publicly for a special favor.

For me to feel this, you can't possibly imagine how contrary this is to what I've ever done before. So please do not post here unless you've joined me.

1. Amen, and done.
I've never, ever considered literally praying in the voting booth. But I will this year.

2. I Do Every Day!

God is working behind the scenes to make this all come out in favor of peace and justice. Trust him.

3. My last atheist prayer seemed to work...
'May the pure, bright light of truth shine upon both Kerry AND Bush.' I'm recycling it for the Edwards Vs. Cheney debate.

4. Praying for specific outcomes is asking for disappointment
What you should be praying for (or appealing to a higher power for or whatever) is for wisdom and the discernment to make wise choices and that everyone else will do the same.

5. Please let our momentum continue
not because we want to "win", not for the gratification of our egos, not so that we may feel self righteous or superior, but for the good of mankind. May the people of the world enjoy a happier, more just, and peaceful future under John Kerry.

8. Ok.
"Deliver us from our pride, conceits and follies."

When I go over to my friends' house for dinner, I will add to the mealtime prayer. They are good Christians and I am sure that they will not object.

I give them a fair amount of good natured ribbing -- but they know that I respect their beliefs -- because they are good, decent people, trying in their own way to live a life of high principle and not just self interest.

9. Even Better
I've made a vow to go to confession (for the first time in 10 years) if Kerry wins. ;-)
