Will Bush over compensate in second debate?

Remember how Gore became too nice in the second debate and seemed to loose his fire and everyone noticed? Often the guy who looses will try not to make the same mistakes he made in the first debate and that can make it harder for them to be themselves. When you are not being who you are people tend to overcompensate and look bad again. It's hard to come back once you lost the first time because you tend to question yourself more. Bush will probably take a sniff of coke before he goes on to settle his nerves. Can we recommend a drug test before the debate?

He'll do better than expected, saying absolutely nothing but platitudes about how much he cares, but Kerry will nail the coffin shut with numbers and facts in the third debate, and Bush will revert to bumbling.

and do better. He won't win, but he'll do better. I hope Kerry won't get overconfident, but I don't think I'll have to worry about that.

are not softened up because people feel sorry for *. This country needs a change of leadership and we have a right to ask tough questions.

9. Over-compensate how exactly?

By growing a thinking brain? Coming off hard-nosed in one debate and then going too far in the next by acting too nice, yes, I can see that. But how does one go from complete no-nothing boob to sharp-as-a-tack guy?

Now, *'s expressions may be better controlled, yes. He may over-compensate there and be stone-faced. Or smile all the time, no matter what. That I can see. It's not an image I want burned on my retinas for life, but I can still picture it. And...Ugh.

10. Interesting question...

I think Bush will change his expressions. he should do a lot better. He will pat himself on the back for saying what he means and meaning what he says. He will remind the audience that America needs a decisive leader like him, of course, to lead us for more years like the last four years. He will try to be much more likeable in the next debate. The media will reward him with a victory - for his ability to adjust to new situations.

11. there's two angles on the second debate

The first is the "lowered expectations" that Bush can top... But on the downside, the whole world will be looking to see if he does the blinking thing, stutters, pauses, etc... Stuff he always does in press conferences, but for some reason a light bulb went off in America on Thursday, so Bush's idiocy is now an issue.
