Did Democrats just advance against Bush? O'Neill talks...
O'Neill: Iraq Planning Came Before 9/11 ~ AP 1 hour, 31 minutes ago

By SCOTT LINDLAW, Associated Press Writer

CRAWFORD, Texas - Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill contends the United States began laying the groundwork for an invasion of Iraq (news - web sites) just days after President Bush (news - web sites) took office in January 2001 — more than two years before the start of the U.S.-led war that ousted Saddam Hussein (news - web sites).

"From the very beginning, there was a conviction that Saddam Hussein was a bad person and that he needed to go," O'Neill told CBS's "60 Minutes" in an interview to be aired Sunday night.

The official American government stance on Iraq, dating to the Clinton administration, was that the United States sought to oust Saddam.

So much for the capture of Saddam Hussein. I think this has got to anger many people.

1. Notice how they try to blame Clinton for Bush lies and treason...
"The official American government stance on Iraq, dating to the Clinton administration, was that the United States sought to oust Saddam."

Uh, except that Bill didn't lie his ass off to invade Iraq.

3. And we were told that he turned down PNACers in 1998.
Cheney et al sent a letter asking him to take Iraq. T or F.

4. Regime change became policy in 1998
Lying to accomplish it certainly wasn't.

2. It's nice to see one who has left the White House
show some integrity. This was a big risk for O'Neill. I sense a deep disappointment from his republican ideals...to see *bush and company squander the morals of America on self-indulgence and greed beyond imagination.

I hope this is only the beginning of truth seeking.

5. Makes you wonder what else O'Neill knows
...or more specifically, what he's willing to talk about.
