Matcom and others. why did Edwards need a grand slam?
I thought all he had to do was score some serious points against a sitting VP...cause him to be unable to defend himself, etc.

the momentum was already toward Kerry. I don't think Edwards needed to be a jackass swinging at every item. I think he presented himself as likeable which seems to be over half the battle these days in TV debates.

1. He didn't. Some people obviously thought Cheney would fold like Bush.

5. so what? people will evenly spin it this time. they want a horse race
it's more advertising $$$ for them. They can bid up ad prices in October. That's the way these media whores are.

I believe it will come down with some on both sides. So...where we were except a BUNCH of people just met John Edwards. which is good.

3. Because he could get one
and that would keep it going.

Please Edwards has 100000000x the charisma that Cheney has. Why couldn't he knock it out of the park.

I wanted it so bad.

Waaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Nothing more but I think he even edged over that.

7. Because most people don't research, so when Cheney lies and sounds
condescending and right, it makes them think that JE is spinning his position. I hear this every day when I have to call my constituents and get them motivated to go to the polls.

JE is pulling it out with closing statements - he sounds far better now - but when Cheney was talking to him like a wayward child, that had an emotional resonance that would scare a lot of people.

He just needed to hold his own. Cheney is a polished liar. I'm just glad Cheney didn't rip him from limb to limb. Let's face it, Cheney is formidable, and he believes in the repugnant policies he's pushing.

Edwards did a great closing.

Cheney is promising stuff that B/C did not provide in the past 4 years. Now he's scaring me.....Dear god, WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!! If Bush is the only viable option...WTF?

11. Cheney had absolutely NO positive position to argue from
and he still almost won this debate.

9. Home run?!? That would have only happened if
Cheney jumped up and bit John in the neck.

Edwards whipped him like a little bitch.
