7. I just posted on another CNN thread -
Bill Schneider is nuts. He has no interest in what real people think? His reasoning on why Cheney 'won' is so inane: "Cheney mentioned Kerry many more times than Bush. The debate was about Kerry's record and that's not good for him." "Cheney looked more presidential." Yeah, like a dead president.

It is not surprising that someone might identify more with a person who looks so much like him. They both look like old men who should be put out to pasture, like old work horses.

23. The illogic was hysterical!
Schneider counted the references to Kerry and Bush, saying it was 65 times Kerry was mentioned and 35 for Bush or "the president."

Schneider's remarkable and desperate twist: that meant Kerry was the focus and therefore Cheney was the winner for making Kerry's record the campaign issue. He said if that continued the Bush campaign would "continue to have the upper hand."

Edwards intentionally and effectively brought up John Kerry time after time, every response, to promote Kerry's agenda and contrasts to Bush. According to Schneider logic, each one of those was a black mark for Kerry.

Damn, remember when Edwards instinctively said Kerry twice during the question when Gwen Iifel idiotically asked them not to say the name of the candidates? It would have been 63-35 otherwise, and we know every percent counts.

Whoops, I have certainly mentioned Kerry more than Bush in this post. Sorry.

33. Schneider is a Democrat
Why is it everytime Schneider balances out his commentary with a poke at Kerry everyone at DU jumps up and down and calls him right-winged?

It is ok to cheer for the home team, but ignoring criticism will do nothing to enhance your standing. Bush has made a career out of ignoring discending viewpoints and it has led us to where we are today.

If Schneider is being critical of Kerry on a topic then it is possibly something Kerry needs to attend to. Afterall we are not talking about Bill O'Reilly here.

I am a proud flip-flopper and would be willing to change my opinion with more information. Do you have some websites for what you suggest? I thought Schneider was a Democrat based on watching his reporting for the last few years. I also seem to remember him having his mother on CNN for a Mother's Day thing and saying how his mom was a lifelong Democrat.

American Enterprise Institute’s Principal Issues:

*American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is a think tank for conservatives, neoconservatives, and conservative libertarians.
*Areas of interest include: America’s “culture war,” domestic policy and federal spending, education reform, neoconservatism, affirmative action, welfare reform.
*President George W. Bush has appointed over a dozen people from AEI to senior positions in his administration. AEI claims that this is more than any other research institution.

41. Schneider can't conceal his bias
It was so evident. Despite that a heavy majority of Americans said Edwards won the debate, Schneider hangs his case that Cheney won based on how many times Kerry's name was mentioned. Never mind that Edwards must have said "this administration" 100 times during the debate. I guess "this administration" has nothing to do with Bush or Cheney...LOL.

Tell you what. You can tell Bush is sliding in the polls when meida hacks like Schneider shed whatever thin veneer of fairness they have and openly campaign for Shrub. Schneider basically said that most Americans that viewed the debate were wrong!

I suppose he's going to have that opinion when Kerry wins the election. They were wrong!

All of this shows just how desperate ShrubCo is that they have to trot out their "bought" reporters to help them hide the fact that Shrub's campaign is going down the toilet.
