Kerry and Theresa on Dr. Phil. Final nail in Bush coffin!
I just watched Dr. Phil yesterday, and my God....the race is over!

The only level that Kerry and his wife hadn't connected with America yet was on a personal one. They certainly did that in spades.

Dr. Phil and his wife conducted the interview a month ago, so today they did little introductions of sequences that seemed to be taped in the Kerrys home.

All I can say is "wow". That show was the clincher. They are regular, charming, funny, warm, real folks! There's some great pics and movies of Kerry and family from years gone by....and Theresa really comes accross as genuinely nice.

It's amazing how the campaign to paint her as cold-blooded managed to seep it's way even into my mind! I genuinely liked her, she's a quality person.

If you didn't get a chance to see it request the network to show it again.

He averages 7 million viewers, but I suspect the ratings got a rise yesterday. He had all these women in the audience, and you could tell thier faces were just "WOW!" at the end of it!

I didn't like the article that came out about it today, however.
Seems to take a few veiled shots, whaddaya think:
read it here

Although I DID like to see the NEW YORK POST YELLING "PLEASE, DR. PHIL, SHUT UP" ABOUT IT!
If they don't like it, we're doing something right

1. Poop I missed it!
I was wondering when it was on, and grrrr it was yesterday.

Sigh.

Thanks for the report though--by that photo I've seen, I knew they did a great job.

4. Here's a link to the Dr.'s info on the Kerry show..
Dr. Phil "Exclusive: The Kerry Family"

Has a discussion room where you can "share your thoughts". Looks like a few freepers are puking thier bullshit in there.

It also has lots of pics and the transcript divided up into themed sections.

And if you really want to see it and have no Tivo, you can order a transcript.

enjoy!

3. I think you may be right! Spin and tiresome newspaper reports aside...
... this was just pure gold.

JK was so open, so relaxed and forthright -- so GENUINE -- that I'm sure everyone viewing really connected with him, and he with them.

My first reaction on watching the episode -- and, by the way, I really REALLY dislike "Dr." Phil and am not a regular viewer -- my first reaction was, "Well, JK has the women's vote sewn up."

Fantastic. Great job, JK! :)

6. I didn't see the Bush interview.
Check out the comments on the Dr. Phil link above.

One rightwinger is comparing and complaining about the chairs! I noticed on freerepulsive they whined about the Bush interview not coming after the Kerry one.

I think I read someplace that he was pretty softball on the Bushs too. I don't know if he praised them as effusely as he praised Kerry and Theresa.

Dr. Phil telling the world that Kerry "Gets it" is pretty powerful stuff.

7. I saw those comments (thanks!) I was just trying to get a feel from
people who had watched both the Kerry and Bush interviews about how they came off.

I agree, that endorsement from Dr. Phil will carry weight.

Thanks again!

9. This must be driving the repubs crazy.
They thought at least Dr. Phil would be on their side.

11. That's the point, he's not on either side, just the sane side the more
healthy side, so logical side, the leadership side. Dr. Phil just explored their mental health and Kerry won AGAIN!

13. I saw a bit of the Bush interview
Dr. Phil was complimentary to them too. I feel that the Bushes came off as more guarded and private.

With the Kerrys they dealt with more substantive issues, divorce, blending families etc. These are tough issues that touch most peoples lives. I would say that a majority of the population are either divorced themselves or grew up in broken families. The John Kerry won some votes.

18. I watched it too, although if you tell anyone else, I'll deny EVER
watching "Dr Phil", but it was a great show. At the end he made the comments about the Kerry's "getting it" and thanked them for spending the time with him and Mrs Dr Phil, did he do a similar thing withthe bush*s?

20. If you go to the link
posted 3 down from the top.....the Dr. Phil link...you can click through to the "other side" which details the Bush interview.

I don't see any portion devoted to Dr. Phils closing statements about the president. What I did read seems more wooden than the Kerry interviews.

I'm tellin' ya, this was a piece of gold for Kerry. I hope it's replayed.

12. Kerry and Teresa were very good, i thought since Phil is a Republican
there might be some bias against them. but this was actually the first time i have seen dr phil's show and i only watched since i knew kerry would be on. but it was very good.

i remember dr phil said on some show a few weeks ago how bush was the traditional father and kerry was divorced and so was not always iwth his kids. i thought it might make kerry look bad. but considering that there are many divorced and single parents out there i thought they would be able to relate. and kerry and teresa did great.

15. Answer....
No, it's probably a mix. Lots of women like him.

He came to fame due to Oprah...not a rightwinger favorite herself.

Check the link...third post down from the top.

He's influential, that's what counts. He's become an American institution. It's like when Oprah says "read this book" and it sells millions, when Dr. Phil says "he gets it" millions will accept that Kerry "gets it".

16. Did he ask Kerry
about the epidemic of oral sex in middle schools?

I saw that clip orf the Dr. Phil interview with Bush and was rolling on the floor. They didn't show Bush's response, though.
