Judicial race ads are killing me!
Almost every one contains the obligatory bow to Roy Moore or the Ten Commandments. It's hilarious.

"Judge Roy Moore supports the candidacy of Pam Bachab."

"Tom Jackson is a former assistant to Judge Roy Moore."

"It was a sad day when the Ten Commandments were removed from our judicial building." (Jean Brown)

I'm glad these ads don't air outside the state, where Moore is a laughingstock.

1. This is the test of the unraveling of the Repubs in AL
The religious wing will either completely dominate or scare the business wing into submission. These people are all unacceptable as judges. If it's a good day for golf on June 1, then there will probably be at least two friends of Roy as Repub nominees.

2. I drove through Alabama last fall
...and it took the prize for the most poisonous radio between New Mexico and Florida.

Let me guess, all these guys have Baptist hair and are trying to look as much like a poster for Elmer Gantry as ole Roy Moore did.

3. Do any of the candidates NOT support Roy Moore?
I'm going to be voting in the Republican Primary (no Dems are running for the seats that are on the ballot) and want to throw my support to the least harmful candidates.

Thanks

4. There's those three that Moore officially endorses
Baschab, and two others I forgot - there's one commercial that lists all three, watch for it, then vote for their opponents.

6. Thanks
I'll keep them in mind. I'd like to reward the incumbents who, at the very least, acknowledged the need for following the rule of law.

7. Republican for the day (and for a good cause!)
I voted in the Republican primary today in Alabama for the same reason - better to beat the pro-Moore candidates as early as possible. I took particular pleasure in checking "uncommitted" in the presidential nominee box, as opposed to the only other choice - George W. Bush.

Early returns tonight have pro-Moore candidates being thumped by opponents (Jean Brown and Patti Smith) in the first two Supreme Court races (around 60%-40% in both). The third SC race is more muddled, with four candidates running. It is still very early, though, so I'm not celebrating yet.

AlabamaYankee and I aren't alone in our efforts - I ran into three people (including my own mother!) at the polls who were voting in the Republican primary to help keep Moore supporters out of our judicial system. I also took my four-year-old daughter with me to help further her education in peace, tolerance and justice at the polls!

8. A lot of us here in Lee County held our noses
as we voted Republican.

There was an open Circuit Court seat with no Dem running, and one of the candidates was just inappropriate for the job. He went negative with his first ad, and at the League of Women voters session called one of the opposing candidates incompetent and the other too old to their faces. He came in last by a wide margin.

And two out of the three Moore candidates defeated is worse than hoped but better than feared
