Fundie-gelical Billboard in Albertville... bizarre!
This uber-creepy bit of fundie-nonsense is located in Albertville, Alabama. I pass it every morning on the way to work.

It used to say "Are you Risen In Christ Or Damned in Sin" but was recently altered to the version you see here.

What does "Damned in Evolution" mean?

On an unrelated note... this western wear store in Boaz appears to be incorporating subliminals in their signage...

2. Ummmmm... dildoes?
Hell, this grocery store in Gadsden makes no bones (no pun intended) about what they are all about... they just spell it right out there for ya!

5. You got that right...
Actually, I photographed the billboard while the evening sun was shining on it, so it appears more subdued in the picture than in real life. It is really a day-glow monstrosity!

6. Strange
When I looked up Hebrews 11-3 this is what was there:
11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
So what that has to do with either evolution or damned is beyond me.

9. Well, it does seem to refer to creationism...
I suppose that evolution implies that the things which are seen evolved from other things (which do appear???)

I kinda see the relevance of the scriptural reference to the whole creationism vs. evolution thing, but "damned in evolution" makes absolutely no sense... until you consider that the sign (which has been there for a few years) formerly read "damned in sin".

Cheap way to use an existing eyesore to voice opposition to one of the things the fundie-gelicals can't understand.

or severely brain-washed, most likely.

Or maybe she really enjoys being stung to death by a huge school of jellyfish!

Looks like an ad for hallucinogenic drugs.

13. Ignorance is Bliss.
Once you learn how to really do things you realize how lousy most people operate, and what a low level of skill is accepted by the public. I am a professional artist and sign painter.
"Brother-In-Law Sign Co." is my biggest competitor.

14. Here's the story about the freaky thing..
It actually belongs to a local doctor (Traynor, I believe and I think he's a podiatrist). His child actually drowned in a drainage ditch behind their home. Shortly afterwards, this billboard appeared. Fruitcakes!!

15. Hey, Gayla!
Yeah, Lori told me she believed the sign was owned by the podiatrist. His office is right beside the sign. I'll ask her if she has heard about the child drowning in the drainage ditch. That adds a whole new level of creepyness to the whole thing.

BTW... Lori and I just closed on a house in Weaver... we'll be moving out of Guntersville within the next month.

She told me about it.He really does feel that way. She's a total 360 from him(supported Clark) but is getting old. I think I'm gonna have to change soon.

17. Sorry to be "that guy"
but a 360 is a complete circle, therefore she would be the exact same. Sorry.

18. What does the new billboard say?
I know its been a while since this was first posted, but has anyone seen what they replaced the "Risen in Christ..." billboard with? I know its a new add similar to this one but I hardly go out that way and keep forgetting to slow down to read it. I cant believe that they actually had the m up...only here. Thanks.

I never see that kind of thing around here. And for that I'm thankful.
