Hello, Tuscaloosa!
Just moved here from Starkville, MS. Just wanted to give a big shout out to any other DUrs who might be around.

3. Groucho was a funny dude
"Tuscaloosa" was also featured in a B.C. comic strip years ago. Let's see, it was something like "Tuscaloosa -- what the Italian dentist told the elephant." B.C. has always been pretty stupid. It's a comic strip about cavemen written by a creationist. That's a head-scratcher.

2. Welcome to town!
My dad lived in Starkville when he was a kid before his family moved to Tuscaloosa. He was a paperboy for the Commercial-Dispatch.

:hi:

4. Thanks--glad to be here!
Starkville is a nice town, but I'm excited about living in Tuscaloosa. This place seems like a big small town. Nice feel.

5. you're welcome!
I don't know much about Starkville. Never really spent much time there, just a couple visits a long time ago for football games. I think T'Town is an "interesting" mix of evangelicals, "rednecks," African-Americans, and liberal whites, some of whom are "intellectuals."

Anyway, hope you like it here.

8. Hi all...
Edited on Wed Dec-28-05 07:24 PM by Jeffersons Ghost
I'm new at DU and live near Tuscaloosa, like many of you... I've lived here a while but before this last little exploit by King George I was silently hating the Patriot Act. Now it's time for me to do more. Does anyone know where the Democrat Headquarters is in Tuscaloosa? By the way... Roll Tide!
