Hi y'all, from Beautiful Baldwin County.
I'm treasurer of the newly formed South Baldwin Democratic Club. 27 members and growing.
There is an Eastern Shore club (Fairhope, Daphne, Montrose), and a North Baldwin (Bay Minette) club in the making.

Our next meeting is Sunday, May 16, 3 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center (city hall). If you're in the area, come and join us.

1. What in the #@!!...
...is a Democrat doing living in South Baldwin?! Are you mad?!
I think Mobile is more than conservative enough, but Baldwin County?! Sheesh!

3. Not to belabor the point...
...but I find Mobile very frustrating to deal with on a daily basis. The ignorance, myopia and general xenophobia stemming from its traditional conservatism are maddening and manifest themselves in a myriad of inescapable ways.

However, Baldwin County has long been known for being even more right wing than Mobile. How do you cope with it?

5. Expatriot here
I just got back from a week in my birthplace, Mobile. My whole family lives in South Baldwin. It's a nice area, but being raised in Colorado it's jarring to hear the armchair ethnography and religous conservatism.

I've often compaired my plight to Cold War deffectors who hold some nostalgia for their home country even though they didn't like the system.

8. That’s where they stole the election from Sieglman

Interesting story of how the vote was changed by 10,000 in favor of Riley (at 3am btw)

Our own little 'Florida' that took place in the 2002 Alabama governors 'election'.
