1. He represents suburban Birmingham
He once suggested that Bill Maher was a traitor. He once came out to a Habitat for Humanity build, put up a few pieces of vinyl siding and left. His only opponent in the last election, Roy Moore's former lawyer, was in the GOP primary and ran to the right of him. There's just enough room to the right of Bachus to fit all tyhe stored compassion of the Alabama Republican Party. In other words, zippo.

Natalee Holloway is one of his constituents.

He lives in Vestavia Hills. So if you write to him ask him whether he thinks Coach Anderson and the Rebels will ever beat Hoover again?

2. he was chosen as the funniest member of Congress
I'm not sure who votes on these things, but I know it's true because I saw it on C-SPAN. ;)

I think he's funny too, but not for the reasons that would comfort him.

3. I wouldn't vote for him
He is pretty much 100% on the other side of issues from me. I grew up with his sons and he always seemed like an arrogant prick to me, even before he was elected to congress. He first ran on the GOP bs "term limits" wave and promptly did a 180 on the issue after he was elected. I don't see him losing the district to anyone less conservative than he is anytime soon, but I would at least vote against him as a protest.
