Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 09:31 PM by BamaLefty
MONTGOMERY - Gov. Bob Riley, who has announced his bid for a second term, holds a 19-point lead over ousted Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore among likely voters in the 2006 Republican gubernatorial primary, according to a recent statewide survey.

The Mobile Register-University of South Alabama poll of 400 registered voters around the state shows Riley commanding 44 percent and Moore with 25 percent. The remainder were undecided.

2. The sample size is OK if the sample is random across all strata of the
voting population.

3. Thank Goddess...
...I guess I'll hold my nose and vote Republican for Riley in the primary. Then I will immediately have to go home, take an antibiotic, scrub with clorox and then shower. :-)

4. Let the Repigs
have their own little bloodfest. May it be the ugliest Repiglican primary in Alabama in ages!

Adding votes their primary total only encourages them. Stay with your party. Add to ITS primary tally. Then work like the dickens for the Democratic nominee in the general.

A Democrat in the Governor's Mansion in Alabama would send a HUGE signal to the rest of the south (and the nation) that the age of Crony Conservatism is OVER.
