(BREAKING)Suspect in Natalee Holloway Case Release
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/LegalCenter/wireStory?id=1993202

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands May 23, 2006 (AP)— A man arrested in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba was released on Tuesday, a Dutch court official said.

The release of the suspect, identified only as Guido W. because of Dutch privacy laws, means he will not be transferred to the Caribbean island, said the court official, Martine de Bruijn.

His lawyer, Gerard Sprong, told Dutch television there was not enough evidence to hold his client.

A spokesman for the Dutch national prosecutor's office declined to comment, saying the case was in the hands of the Aruba public prosecutor.

3. When the MSM brings this or similar up it usually seems like a distraction
from something big happening or about to happen... hmmm... :tinfoilhat:? not enough :hangover:? OR... ?? Sometimes I wonder if there's a huge epidemic of an undiagnosed form of ADD in this country... "Bush lied to get us into war with Iraq... Bush is eroding our civil liberties... election fraud... oh looook pretty butterfly must follow."

8. Unpopular as this may be, I actually DO give a shit about this story
And whaddaya know...I'm the first Alabamian to reply to this thread - in the ALABAMA state forum!

:eyes:

Underpants - thanks for the link. You are cool as always in my book.

Hell yes, the disappearances of pretty young blonde white women get incredibly disproportionate news coverage. I think it is best if we debate that as an issue, though, rather than making insensitive comments about a specific young woman who is almost certainly dead and whose family is in great pain.

Two pennies and all that.

9. what you said!
I totally agree with how bad the media are performing these days. It's all about profits and nothing about public service.

But I find this particular thread to be without a point. Except to be inflammatory.

Best to Natalee's family. I hope they get some justice.

I, for one, welcome visitors to our forum. (Hell we could use the traffic.) But visitors should show some manners, and not divebomb for inflammation.

10. I used to be more welcoming, didn't I?

:hide:

Still, they didn't post in as proper guests would, did they? That's got to excuse at least some of my snark, right?

:D

11. I saw this thread a little earlier
And I wanted to respond, but decided to preserve the "ahem" outsider status of it.

But once you broke it open, I had to jump in. :hi:

And moved into the Alabama forum by a moderator.

I think that's kind of a strange decision, but okay.

I apologize to underpants for my "inflammatory divebombing" comment. (Has that sentence ever been spoken in human history?)
