EDIT: Fixed a typo that the News' editors should have caught.
“There’s only one district that’s competitive on paper, and, frankly, a strong candidate didn’t emerge in that race," Davis said last week of Alabama’s 3rd District, in which Republican Mike Rogers of Anniston is the incumbent.
He even praised Rogers for having “done a good job solidifying himself" in the 3rd District.
And while Davis may be correct in his political assessment of the Alabama congressional landscape, his remarks did not sit very well with the Democratic candidates struggling for upsets in those four districts.
“It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy," (Rogers' Democratic opponent, Greg) Pierce said of Davis’ predictions of the delegation retaining its status quo.
If he doesn't think Pierce is a strong candidate, why must he open his pie hole?
