Shelby's thinly veiled Bush Ad

For any of you who are unlucky to be on one of Dick Shelby's mailing lists, you will soon (if you haven't already) be receiving a mailer entitled "It's About Protecting Alabama Taxpayers" It includes a photo of good 'ol Dick and Bush the Younger (suitable for framing) and some incredibly misleading information about the Bush tax cut. The tag line is great "President George W. Bush and Senator Richard Shelby. Protecting the Rights of Taxpayers." Please.

The facts are pretty darn simple: For the bottom 60 percent of Americans, the average tax cut was just $304. The median tax cut for all Americans was only $470. In contrast, the average tax cut for those making over $1 million a year was $112,925.

But, then we should know who Shelby represents.
