WSFA 12 News is looking for four families varying in age, income levels and race to help us answer the question all Americans must consider before electing a president:

Are you better of now than you were four years ago?

We'll look at five major areas:

1) Income/Money/Spending power. After inflation, taxes, and tax cuts, do you have more money to spend now than you did four years ago?

2) Taxes. The federal government has cut taxes for many people, but state and local taxes are higher. Are you getting the same services you did four years ago, or is your community worse off for roads, police and basic services?

3) Public Safety/Crime. Are crime rates up? Have you or your family become a target for crime? Is the government doing enough to protect your family?

4) Schools. Are you kids getting a better education? We'll look at graduation rates, dropout rates, No Child Left Behind, teachers salaries, class sizes, vocational placements.

5) Terrorism. Has the government made enough changes to take care of your concerns? Should we still be concerned about terrorism still? Has the president properly handled the war or terror or has he mismanaged American affairs?
