Why is Obama polling so much better in Mississippi than Alabama?
I just don't understand this. Obama trails McCain upwards of 25 points in the Alabama polls that I've seen, yet it looks like about a six point spread in Mississippi.

I know that Mississippi has a higher percentage of black people -- about a 10 point difference, 37% to 27%.

But that doesn't seem like enough to explain such a huge gap in the polls.

Georgia has about the same white/black makeup as Alabama, yet Georgia and Mississippi are considered leaning to McCain, while Alabama is considered a lock for the Republican.

How can we explain this? It just doesn't compute.

AND Alabama is full of Faux News worshiping closet homosexual haters of anything not white. I live and have lived in Bama my whole life, it sucks the level of stupidity in this state.

3. aren't there any dumb people in Mississippi?

Aren't we supposed to be able to say "thank god for Mississippi," anymore?

Where are the smart Alabamians, like trof and southlandshari?

Did they crawl up in a ball and die?

Aren't we still AT LEAST as smart as Mississippi? Is Sylvester Croom THAT influential?

Jeez. I mean...

4. This could be a possible thesis paper
I have a theory....The better the Crimson Tide do, the more people tend to vote the status quo. With Saban on board, everyone is happy again, and not ready for anymore "change". If this election was held in 2004, things might be different.
