does Vivian Figures even have a campaign?

By the looks of things, you wouldn't even know we're having a Senatorial election in a few weeks.

I've been seeing lots of ads for Josh Segall and Mike Rogers. I haven't seen a single one for Figures or Sessions.

I know that Figures is a huge long-shot. But isn't there going to be any campaign at all?

1. I haven't seen any signs or tv ads around here.

The tv spots for the other race are just nasty.

2. Rogers' ads make me want to vomit

Is repeating the word "liberal" really still enough to win a campaign? And they remind me of that salsa commercial. New York City?

And that self-consciously rural man decrying abortion by saying "that don't fly down here."

I mean, are our fellow Alabama voters so brain-dead that they are fooled by such nonsense?

Josh Segall's commercials actually seem to be pretty good to me. NAFTA and CAFTA and similar trade deals are rotten deals for blue collar workers, but that fact will probably once again fail in the face of moronic appeals to the emotional and simple-minded doofuses with which our state is so amply blessed.

Damn, in Alabama, it seems like the more educated a person is, the stupider they are.

"Republican U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions and his Democratic opponent, state Sen. Vivian Davis Figures, agree that the economy, including the pump price of gas, tops their list of voter concerns before the Nov. 4 election.
