GO SOONERS!!!!!!!
Edited on Sat Dec-06-08 10:12 PM by liberaltrucker
Normally (no pun intended) I'd support the SEC representative in the NC game.
Not this time. Gators suck, Vols suck! War Eagle and Roll Tide!

Yeah, I know Tommy was unceremoniously dumped. We'll discuss that later.

For now:

Oklahoma
"Boomer Sooner"

Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner,
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner,
Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner,
Boomer Sooner, O-K-U!

Oklahoma, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, Oklahoma,
Oklahoma, O-K-U!

I'm a Sooner born
And a Sooner bred,
And when I die
I'll be Sooner dead.

Rah, Oklahoma! Rah, Oklahoma!
Rah, Oklahoma! O-K-U!

Doesn't quite have the rah-rah of "Yeh, Alabama" or "War Eagle", but what the hell.

1. I'm sorry my team let you down
What is going on in this crazy world? We have a incoming president that is biracial, and I'm apologizing to you for a 'Bama loss

I haven't decided for sure, and I still have a month to decide, but I guess I'm likely to support the SEC's Gators. I'm not a big fan of them, but they are nowhere near as bad as the other two big Florida teams. I absolutely despise Florida State, even though Bobby Bowden in an Alabama fan. And the University of Miami is the face of evil.

I don't hate Oklahoma at all. RoyGBiv is a DU'er that I quite like (he's helped me with several computer-related problems), and he's an Oklahoma fan. Still, I think I will probably stick with conference loyalty. And I'd like to think that the team that beat down 'Bama can handle the Big 12 champion (where they apparently don't practice defense... where the scores sound like they come from basketball games).

So, do you have any idea who will replace T-Tub? I think that Brian Kelly from Cincinnati might be a good one. He's done an amazing job up in Ohio.

2. My personal preference is bring back Terry Bowden
But with a chastity belt!

Seriously, Mr Kelly would be an excellent choice. But given the recent SNAFUs
in the Auburn AD, I don't expect a wise choice. :banghead:

LTwife disagrees with you about conference loyalty. Join the club. She disagrees
with me on numerous issues. "Yes, Dear" became a large part of my vocabulary on
the wedding night!

3. I can't quite remember exactly why Terry Bowden got the ax

Was it a sex scandal? That doesn't ring a bell, at all. But, hey, I forget things all the time.

As for conference loyalty, Saban endorsed the concept, and that's good enough for me. I love the guy. Of course, if he were to dump us for another school, I would then need to re-evaluate my affections. :7

As for LTwife's disagreement with me, you should know that she is just trying to drive a wedge between us, to prevent Coach Kelly from being hired by Auburn. She must be working for Jimmy Sexton.
