does the medical marijuana bill stand a chance in Montgomery?

I would like to think so, but we have so many troglodytes in Montgomery, it is hard to imagine.

Polls have shown that the public is in favor of medical marijuana, even in Alabama, by substantial margians.

But I'm afraid the monkeys in Monkey Town, will once again cater to their superstitious base, who believe that marijuana only will encourage the local jazz musicians to go around and rape white women. Or something like that.

I like the hell out of Loretta Nall. She's got "moxie," that's for sure.

5. I cannot stand the man's politics, but...

On a couple of occasions he was beneficial to me (or at least tried to be!).

Most recently when I was working as a poll watcher in the Peterson area (where I was obviously NOT welcome) Mr. Allen came in to do the glad handing thing, recognized me and called me by my name. That alone made the second half of my shift much more pleasant.

That being said, he will never get a vote from me.

6. I voted for him once

It was the first time he ran for office. I think he ran as a Democrat then, but I wouldn't swear to it. I voted for him simply because I knew him, and he had always been very kind to me. But it has become apparent that he wants to continue following policies that have kept Alabama at or near the bottom in nearly every quality-of-life survey out there. As much as I like him personally, there's no way I'll ever vote for him again... UNLESS his political ideology undergoes drastic changes. I remember seeing him on Hannity & Colmes one night, and even Sean Hannity seemed to think he was a dangerous extremist. That's uncharted territory! Next time I run into him, I will shake his hand, and try, probably unsuccessfully, to talk some sense into him.
