Parker Griffith is a liar, a cheat, a dishonorable scum-bag,
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 09:57 AM by Dhalgren
a whore, and now, a Republican. With that description, what else could he be? You know, when assholes like this can switch back and forth between the "Parties", the idea that the two "parties" are the same makes more and more sense. It doesn't even matter anymore whether they have a little "R" or a little "D" after their names, they are all the same. The Nelsons? Landrieu? There are so many Democrats that you cannot tell from Republicans that it isn't even funny, anymore. And it doesn't matter which "party" is in control, the right-wing is going to win, because they are all right-wing - at least, when they vote.

ETA: I am just disgusted...

1. considering
the guy mostly voted with repubs anyway he might as well stop faking being a demo. I hope the door knob hits him on the ass on his way out. The conservadems are a drag on the democratic party as far as I can see it and they either need to cross over to the GOP or be replaced by actual democrats. I'm not saying all demos should be locksteppers but these people opposed their party's platform and almost sided with the repugs. They can only see the light if they are bribed and by watering down progressive bills.

3. Actually, this is probably the most honest thing Griffith has ever done.
If you are going to act like a republican, talk like a republican and vote like a republican, why call yourself a Democrat?

One less worthless piece of shit shaming the Democratic party.

5. hopefully he'll get teabagged by a loon
And a Democrat will be able to hang on to the historically Democratic district. But if that happens, it will probably be by a marginally-Democratic candidate. Joe Turnham needs to get his act in gear. But, then again, he's only a little behind the national leadership in the "get a spine" race.

6. The district went for McCain
And I read that Obama's approval rating there is 30%

The reason that it was a historically Dem district is that the last rep was Dem and had been in a very long time. Defeating a long time incumbent who has been bringing home the bacon is more difficult than defeating a one-term congressperson.

I think Griffith would have had a difficult re-election no matter what his party affiliation was.

My guess is that he will be defeated in the Repub primary and that a teabagger will win the seat.

I wish a real Dem could win the seat, but then I also wish Repub Bonner didn't represent the district where I grew up. I also wish my high school friends didn't vote for Bonner, but they do.
