Because I get frustrated with the bias media and newspapers reporting one sided each election, this year I decided to personally follow all the campaign trails I could. Both sides: I asked, I inquired, I poked and protted. I checked their campaign finances, contributions, expenditures, became friends on Facebook, followed, googled daily on all press releases I could.. just for a fair vote and one I could feel good about. Here were my findings.
First, if in doubt: Secretary of State, FCPA Search, type in candidate, follow the money trail from contributions to expenditures. You will be amazed at who is buying votes and selling out. Can't trust Sparks knowing how much he has paid for votes, he sold out. Davis gets my vote for going beyond a few committees and to the people. (he put his money where his mouth was). He voted against the health care as a congressman it would not work for his people in poverty unemployed areas of District 7. he's for health care reform, but not that one... I'm upset he did that, but it's only one issue compared to what other he does stand for. (good to get the republican support out of it too, I'm sure). I looked up candidates, checked out their contributors, then expenditures, the amounts then googled the people giving and getting. Found myself with people in Alabama linked to companies out of state all the way to Colorado and then PAC to PAC back to Alabama again in another connected fund. Try it. Amazing at who is willing to take from whom and at what price the pot can call the kettle black.
Barnes over De Moore for certain. Barnes is US Treasury, Federal Government retiree, Retired Vietnam Combat Veteran, served in three military branches, never ran for political office before and has been using his (5) degrees since retirement to help pro bono for lesser people. Super smart. DeMoore started out independent, changed to democratic, endorsed by black caucus and indpenendent causus (icaucus.org) which is republicans by another name, check it out. Shelby has been in office way too long, 25 years almost unopposed. $17 million in his campaign contributions and most came from big business or out of state people (who can't vote). DeMoore is a R&B singer and that is his main passion. Tethering him to a 6 year seat will do him unjustice. Each time I spoke with him, he couldn't be specific on one issue. Every time I spoke with Barnes, he went back to the same thing. Terrified about the oil spill and the deregulations that created it. Senators fault for voting the way they did. He's more concerned about 230,000 alabamians out of work and fisheries that will be. Education is his passion because the money is there, just not allocated and transparent. Wants to address job creation and has a great plan for bringing jobs to Alabama. Thinks we need to bring them back from overseas and give incentives to those that open businesses using american made products.
Anyone taking money from PAC to PAC doesn't need to be considered. Too shady.
Note ALL candidates endorsed by the Alabama Democratic Conference (black caucus) had to pay for it. on rootswire.com
James Anderson paid 31,650.00 for his as did many others. He's on retainer with a lot of big business and important people, which will remain nameless, some are candidates others are executives. (all proved via secretary of state and websites). Michel is a true prosecutor and has gone on record as not being afraid to prosecute even the officials and leaders.
Jeremy Sherer is by far full of integrity, honesty and consistent. He carries a business plan in his head and can rattle it off with ways to fix Alabama. Using the 529, he can pull funds for education from it with proper budgeting. He has class, character and motivated. You remember Charley Grimley, the man that held Judge Moore's jar during the senate meeting when he had to pea? He is shady, doesn't have real issues. When I asked how he would fix Alabama, he said, I'll hire good people. He rubs elbows with $#%%%^%^$ and he has gone on record as being a long time republican contributor to campaigns. He was a privately owned community bank owner and has taken and given through PAC.
Miranda Joseph, state auditor by far is the most qualified and honest young lady out there. She takes the cake for class. Every time I have been with her, she has demonstrated such class, honesty and consistently concerned about our state. She has the experience to back it.
Earl Hilliard for our district for congress just has been doing it right for years. He by far knows what he is doing and never forgot where he came from. His life is transparent and so are his records.
Scott Gilliland has been on the trail every single day showing up at 2 places almost at once, I watch him work the crowd and go to every single person in the room. He speaks with honesty and a hard drive to want to help. I spoke with Boozer and I checked his records, he has too much baggage and too many connections. Beth Chapman has done nothing to enforce or keep the businesses legitimate, the elections fair and voter fraud is out of control. Right now there are unlimited reports of voter fraud, absentee voting and payoffs being reported. I know in my town alone of 4 people that were approached to change their vote for money.
Jim Folsom has done alot. I am afraid he has gotten caught up in the politics and behaves sometimes like a celebrity being sought after, but he has done alot for us.
We need as many no names as possible this time and start over. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Got to send a message to Alabama and America. We are the worst talked about state in the country for 36% internet access to the outside world, one of the lowest education system in the country, referenced as rick and bubba icons to represent us and we all know if we don't GRIP.. we can't GRIPE.. (GRIP = Get Rid of the Incumbent Politicans).
The problem is the NO-NAMES don't have the backing to get themselves in front of 42,423 square miles of voters. 2.7 million registered voters in 67 counties and unless we stand up and do something... we're gonna get exactly what we deserve... THE SAME BAD THING ALL OVER AGAIN!
