1. I haven't been to Lake Clark
but those photos in the link are beautiful. I've been up here 30 years, but there are so many places I haven't been. Lack of roads is kind of an issue.

3. Wouldn't it be great
if they cut deals for residents? I just don't see why we have to pay as much as Outsiders to see our state. (Is my provincialism showing?)

4. Here's A Link I Think You Will Find Very Helpful:
http://www.lakeclarkair.com/air_service.html

Package #2 includes a visit to the Proenneke cabin.

Here is a link to some videos that I have, and they will knock your socks off!

http://www.dickproenneke.com/

I also have a discontinued video called The Frozen North, which is narrated by Dick Proenneke. If you call the publisher, they may still have some copies. I read somewhere that there might be some more of Dick's journals to be published, since "One Man's Wilderness" is only from his first year. He took tons of footage too. I don't know where the link is, but I read somewhere that it is a $450 flight from somewhere, probably Port Alsworth.
I'm from Wisconsin, and it is my dream to come to Alaska some day, just can't afford it yet, on a teacher's salary.

5. Oh, you will love it here...
...but if you come to visit, you may not want to go home. :)
