great article on Begich and Frost

"Jack Frost looks pretty comfortable in his 2000 “desert silver” Mercedes ML-320. He says he preferred his GMC Yukon, because it was bigger and allowed for more outdoorsy cargo. It was more his style, he said. Still, Frost, 67, looks very executive in the Benz, with his tan cashmere coat and sleek sunglasses. The car's growing on him.

Mark Begich seems a little undersized in his 2001 Chevy Tahoe. It's a former undercover vehicle for the Anchorage Police drug unit; the city removed the gangsta window tinting in all but the rear windows. Begich could have a litter of German Shepherd pups back there rather than a pile of tools and you'd never know it. The rear windows are that dark.

Last week, Anchorage's leading mayoral candidates hustled through days of talking points, candidate forums and luncheons. The Press rode shotgun, and also asked them to take us to parts of town they thought worked well and parts that they thought needed work."...

1. Go Mark Go !!!
I looked in at the Kudo board to see what they were saying after last night's debate (in which Mark was awesome!!) and someone commented that during the break, Jack asked John Tracey if they could sit down for the 2nd half of the debate.

Damn!

In any event, sounds like they said NO to his request.

Jack screwed up royally when Tracey went over his figures on the teacher's pay issue.

Face it, he's great at selling rainbow prawns, but he was LOST last night.

Will Leman bail him out with the help of Diebold?

2. I was wondering

JF keeps going on about his 86-year-old friend so concerned about the property taxes and losing his house, but don't the seniors get an exemption on the first $150,000? And then there's the other $20,000 exemption. This whole story just sounds fishy (or maybe I should say "prawny") to me, unless the guy's got a million-dollar house or something.
